Important Update About Betties360

After 20 years of Betties360 programming with youth and families we are writing to let you know we are closing our organization. After much deliberation, we've come to this difficult decision as the result of circumstances outside of our control. Like so many other small organizations, the pandemic and quarantine stretched our financial and organizational resources. Our paid staff and volunteer board spent the past year applying for 17 different grants, with requests totaling over $700,000. Despite six successful applications, of those only one was for the full amount of our request. Despite our efforts to rebuild financially while growing the offerings of our programming, we have not been able to get to a healthy and sustainable place for the organization. The recent news from the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation, Collins Foundation, and M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust about changes in their grant processes that result in no funding being awarded in this calendar year was difficult to hear and ultimately impacted our decision. With over 70% of our funding coming from grant awards over the last three years, not having access to these funding sources and the ability to renew our funding with a past foundation makes maintaining our program no longer financially viable. Thank you so much for your support of our organization, and care for the lives of the youth and families we have served. It has personally been an honor to lead this organization through these difficult times and I sincerely hope there will be future opportunities to continue our mission to inspire confidence, well-being and community in girls and non-binary youth through social-emotional learning, physical activity and outdoor adventure. Sincerely,

Ashlan Glazier-Anderson Betties360 Board Chair
