Emy has been volunteering with Betties360 since October 2006, both as a member of the Board of Directors and as a program volunteer. Working to educate and empower girls and students is a consistent and valued part of her life in Portland, and it continues to be the frequent highlight of her day whether it be exploring the waters, rocks, snow and hiking trails of the Northwest with the Betties, or teaching high school English just across the Columbia River in Washington.
