The Surfin’Betties! Windsurfing Adventure takes place annually at The Hook, the windsurfing capitol of the Northwest, in Hood River, Oregon. Nine girls are carefully paired with adult female mentors. The intention is to forge a strong relationship between mentor and mentee, while they learn to windsurf together. As a group, the participants learn windsurfing basics and, by the end of the day, everyone can haul up their sails and move! In addition, the girls and mentors participate in team-building and goal-setting exercises, all working toward the central mission of Betties360 – to build confidence and well being in young women through healthy activity and new challenges.
